H.E.S Hockey mid season up date...
HES Hockey is in full swing with our 3 teams Geckos, Kiwis and Tuataras enjoying their hockey season and braving the cool mornings!
HUGE thanks to our fantastic coaches, managers and parents for supporting their children and fronting up every Saturday in sometimes below zero temperatures! Brrrrrrr....
Well done on getting The 'legend' ribbon for working so hard on Saturday

The Geckos have made a great start to their first season playing Hockey. This group of energetic players have made excellent progress from their first weeks of the season and are learning to play using the whole field. They are working well as a team to score goals and to stop the opposition from scoring goals too. They were all very brave playing on Saturday in freezing conditions (- 4 degree frost!)
Games played this season = 10, Won 3, Draw 2, Lost 5

We've had really good team work. All the team are really passionate and it's great
to have like minded players playing with you. We've had some wins and few losses but we're really enjoying the season..." ("Tuataras " Team)

SKIPPING
Our school focus for P.E for the rest of term is skipping. Skipping is great for our fitness and also co-ordination. You can do it by yourself, with a buddy or grab a long rope and get a group of friends together.

Netball
A group of committed girls, their parents and their coach/umpire were at Minogue Park to play netball against Woodstock.
It was an exciting game to watch with everyone putting in 100% effort.
These girls showed what it means to be a great HES student, they played fair, they had fun and they were continually encouraging to one another.
I really enjoyed being there to support our girls. Whaea Kat
